Description

Kelteks d.o.o., is a leading European manufacturer of a complete range of high-performance technical fabrics made of carbon, glass fiber or basalt for reinforcing composite materials. It has been operating since 1990, and since 2014, it is majority owned by German Solidian GmbH. Kelteks consume 3,176,994 kWh of electricity per year, leading to high energy costs. The project activity is therefore to install a solar power plant that will reduce electricity consumption from the distribution network by 22%. The Kelteks solar power plant, with an output of 499 kW, will produce 900,684 kWh of electricity per year. The overall objective is to reduce electricity costs by installing capacities for the electricity production from renewable sources, which will contribute to security supply and environmental protection by reducing CO2 emissions by 297.23 tons per year. The direct target groups of the project are employees of the applicant, business entities at the local and national level, students of vocational technical schools, members of technical culture communities. Indirect target groups are regional and local self-government and the interested public. The partner in the project will be the company HANS CLAUSSEN AS from Norway. The partner will carry out information and communication activities to promote the project in Norway. The aim of the Norwegian partner''s activities is to transfer knowledge and experience in usage of renewable energy sources.

Construction of the Kelteks solar power plant contributes to the goal of the Program „Energy and Climate Change“ by increasing the usage of technologies with lower carbon emissions and increased security of energy supply in the Republic of Croatia. The project also contributes to the achievement of mandatory program outcomes and immediate results by achieving the target values of indicators set in the Call.
