Description

The implementation of the proposed project will address the causes, effectively solve the identified problems and significantly contribute to the achievement of the expected goals and results of the ACF. The target groups of the project are civil society organizations (NGO) operating in areas I and II. groups of regional self-government units with below-average ranked regional self-government units in the Republic of Croatia and 60 persons with disabilities with an emphasis on cerebral palsy. The implementation of the project aims to solve the problem of lack of CSO capacity in the segment of CSO organizational capacity, training of leaders for the management of non-profit organizations, transparent and responsible management processes and procedures in the organization and the development of a communication plan. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of NGO in below-average developed local communities while ensuring balanced regional socio-economic growth and development. The specific objectives are: a)to detect problems and strengthen the capacities of active NGO in local communities by training their representatives in key areas; b)encouraging and strengthening the networking of civil society stakeholders with the aim of increasing quality cooperation to provide an effective response to the needs of the local community, which will achieve changes and results among target groups and end users. The relevance of the project proposal in relation to the needs and limitations of the target group is reflected in the provided training, coaching and education that will strengthen the capacity of local NGO. The geographical communities in which they will work refer to central Croatia with an emphasis on Koprivnica-Križevci, Bjelovar-Bilogora and Virovitica-Podravina counties. The thematic community that will be included in the project is the civil sector of the mentioned geographical community with an emphasis on associations that work with people with disabilities.

Summary of project results

The associations that operate in below-average developed local communities are reflected in the lack of capacity of civil society organizations for competent work in the sphere of activity in working with people with disabilities. In order to nullify the detected problems of lack of capacity and replace the needs of CSOs, this project ensured the implementation of training, programs, workshops and trainings for strengthening the capacity of CSOs in the spheres of organizational capacity assessments with an organizational development plan; an advisory and mentoring program of training for building the capacity of human resources in the field of management of non-profit organizations; advisory training and trainer training program (ToT) for the development of transparent and responsible management processes and procedures in the organization; by developing a communication plan and implementing a public campaign to raise public awareness of people with cerebral palsy.

The project result that will exist even after the implementation of the project, in addition to the qualitative results in the form of increasing the inclusion of people with disabilities from less developed areas in society, is visible through the acquired knowledge of CSOs, especially leaders in the segments of running non-profit organizations. A certain form of continuation of this project is planned through the further development of project activities with the use of the established system and know-how on other member associations of the Alliance that could not participate in the project in question. It is also planned to expand the project activities and upgrade it if there is a need for it and the possibility of further financing. The project has multiple sustainability results in the form of financial, institutional sustainability and environmental sustainability. Within these segments, the applicant''s own involvement in financing post-project activities is understood, that is, concrete measures that are planned to be applied during and after the implementation of the project (which will provide the output components).

- we strengthened the capacities and sustainability of CSOs and active citizenship in below-average developed local communities while ensuring uniform regional socio-economic growth and development;
- we detected problems and strengthened the capacities of active CSOs in local communities by training their representatives in key spheres and strengthening the common values of respect for human dignity, equality and respect for human rights;
- we encouraged and strengthened the networking of civil society stakeholders in the segment of human rights and equal treatment with the aim of increasing quality cooperation and prevention of discrimination while providing an effective response to the needs of the local community, which achieved changes and results for target groups and end users
