Description
Gnomon Informatics S.A. has developed the eHealthPass.blue solution which brings existing advances in smart telemedicine and the self- management approaches to the maritime domain to minimise financial losses and environmental pollution (caused by vessel diversions and helicopter evacuations), and to ensure that seafarers are promptly and correctly treated based on the available healthcare data, both in domestic and foreign healthcare institutions. Among other things, the eHealthPass.blue solution remotely monitors seafarers'' health conditions (using smart "wearable" devices), correlates these live measurements with the existing PHRs, and applies intelligent diagnostics using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to proactively detect risk behaviors potentially leading to health deterioration and generate recommended action plans.
In order for Gnomon Informatics S.A. to be able to harness the full capabilities of eHealthPass.blue and contribute to the Blue growth as described above, the company needs to develop certain business skills and expand their business network and partnerships.
To this end the current project proposal aims to address this need by executing the following activities:
- Exploring the maritime ecosystem and the various stakeholders such as shipping owners, crew managers, ship operators, insurance companies, healthcare providers, port authorities, ship registries etc. The exploration will mainly focus on Greece and Norway donor country.
- Contacting maritime companies and relevant stakeholders in order to collect feedback and expand our business network and partnerships.

The project has been completed and all the planned activities and milestones have been achieved. The main activities include participating with a dedicated stand in two Digital Ship conferences in Bergen and Athens, organizing a webinar on monitoring health of seafarers with digital tools, conducting a study trip in Norway, in collaboration with AAKP, to meet with relevant stakeholders and explore the market, and producing a market exploration study for Norway by the project partner AAKP. More specifically, the market study aimed to establish and overview of the Norwegian health care system, particularly concerning the seafarers, with a special focus on digital and remote services as well as to establish an overview of the Maritime Industry, the major stakeholders and their position related to this topic.
The project led to increased capacity for business development for the Gnomon, as the company had the chance to participate with a stand and presence in 3 conferences, as well as increase their knowledge on the Norwegian market as well as build partnerships through a study visit and their collaboration with AAKP.
Summary of bilateral results
The bilateral partner, AAKP assisted in organising the study visit to Norway by mediating with relevant stakeholders, as well as conducted the market study for the Norwegian market.
