Description

Gnomon Informatics S.A. has a background in software engineering and delivers services within digital health solutions.

BlueHealthPass is a R&D-project that aims to develop an e-health platform and tailor it to the healthcare needs of the maritime sector and specifically to seafarers who, despite working in very adverse conditions, are not cared for adequately by traditional health measures. The solution will create a digital healthcare ecosystem, bringing together multiple stakeholders and offer both preventative measures, such as a personalized treatment plan or physical/mental exercise plan, as well as reactive measures in the case of emergencies, such as remote health advice via teleconference.

The developed product will aim to improve the overall health of the seafarers, therefore reducing the incidents on board that would require costly deviations from a ship''s course.

Norwegian research institute SINTEF will be a partner on this project. In the project, their contribution will be contractual research, particularly related to AI features in the health platform.

The project will result in 2 new jobs created, 1 new IPR, as well as increased revenues and enhanced competitiveness for Gnomon.

Summary of project results

Project was successfully completed on time (with a short extension of a few months) and within the budget.

Output: 1 new innovative ICT solution (BlueHealthPass) developed.

Outcomes

- 2 new positions were created and will be retained after the project is completed, as planned

- no IPR or trademark application has been filed, but this might take place in 2023 (target was 1 new IPR application filed by 2022)

- profitability indicators (increase in turnover and net operating income) will materialise after the project.

Summary of bilateral results

The two partners collaborated efficiently and effectively. Their collaboration might extend beyond the project, as additional functionalities may be introduced (for which SINTEF''s involvement would be key). The two parties had collaborated before and intend to collaborate again in other projects or activities as well.
