Description

The project is needed since the five buildings to be upgraded do not meet the criteria of modern buildings. The building’s construction date in combination with the obsolete or outdated technology heating and lighting systems results in expensive operating costs and significant energy consumption. Hence, the project will address a chronic problem of the Municipality.

The project aims to reduce energy consumption in public buildings. The Municipality’s buildings are old, and they do not comply with the Greek Energy Efficiency Regulation. This means that the building environment is not suitable for the users, and this is the problem the project aims to address. The project is fully in line with both the National Energy Policy, the GR-Energy Programme’s targets, as well as the European Energy Policy priorities.

The project consists of the following sub-projects. The project involves the following sub-projects. First, RES projects and energy upgrades in the municipal buildings of Agioi Anargyroi – Kamatero. Second, communication and dissemination actions. Third, the provision of specialized services for the scientific support of the project implementation.

The project plans to significantly decrease energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions. In fact, the project will set specific energy consumption and CO2 targets and the five municipal buildings to be retrofitted are expected to be upgraded to energy class B+ and above.

The local community is expected to benefit from the proposed interventions in several ways. In addition to the expected energy and environmental benefits, significant financial benefits from a significant reduction in the operating energy costs of the municipal buildings are also expected. The improvement of the buildings’ users’ comfort conditions will certainly encourage them to use Energy Saving technologies and Renewable Energy Sources. In general, public awareness regarding the adoption of environmentally friendly habits will be raised.
