Description
The project has two main objectives. One important objective is to develop career choice learning to be more learner-centred. Based on the Tallinn School of Service’s previous experience and feedback from students and teachers, we want to make learning more individual, increase the development of social skills and the share of practical activities, helping students even more in general subjects by focusing on the individual needs of each student. As most students have special needs, we want to develop and pilot a longer choice of profession training for students with SEN.
The second aim is to make profession training a regular part of learning through awareness-raising and extensive notification work. Through the project’s activities we will create an extensive network of youth organizations, institutions and schools, which are aware of the existence of the choice of profession training and can recommend this learning opportunity to the youth who are part of the target group. We are also creating a strong network of school employees who are able to support and advise students in the choice of profession process. To this end, we train teachers as learning and career advisor, so that teachers who deal with young people in the framework of choice of profession training can better support young people both during their studies and when making a choice regarding their career.
As a result of the project, vocational orientation training has taken place at 22 training places and the awareness of vocational orientation will increase and it will become one of the known study choice possibilities for students who are school leavers and/or are unable to make a career choice.
