Description
Bidrento OÜ provides residential rental property management software for letting agents, landlords and property managers which saves money and reduces administration time by 75%. It is one of the most promising start-ups in the PropTech sector in Estonia, and its technology and development idea has been selected as one of the TOP15 most exciting early-stage startups in Europe.
The Green ICT project will enable to add a maintenance module to the platform and complement the existing consumption and consumption module. Development shall result with reducing the lessor''s energy consumption by up to 15-20%. The Green ICT project is based on three problems faced by the managers of larger rental buildings today:
1. Despite the availability of maintenance data, maintenance work related to heating, cooling and ventilation (HVAC) is usually postponed or not carried out at all. Failure to maintain HVAC systems on time significantly increases the maintenance costs of the building.
2. Tenants shall not behave in an environmentally sound manner in their rental premises, consuming more electricity than average, and shall not pay attention, for example, to sorting waste. This leads to a situation where the energy costs of the building are higher than average and the building managers also receive fines for handling waste (eg there is municipal waste in the rubbish bin for paper and cardboard).
3. In order to reduce their administrative burden, landlords often use fixed utility cost accounting, which leads to irresponsible consumption by tenants.
Summary of project results
Project addressed the creation of intelligent monitoring and management systems for rental buildings in order to save energy and costs.
The main goal of the project was to create a maintenance module for the platform, with which it is possible to ensure the timely maintenance of the systems of buildings using the Bidrento interface, and to complement the existing Bidrento tenant consumption module by adding so-called carbon footprint functions, the purpose of which is to stimulate the tenant to act in an environmentally friendly manner. The existing Bidrento cost module was also updated from the landlord''s point of view, enabling a comprehensive overview of the tenant''s consumption behaviour. In this way, it is possible to send a report to the tenant about his consumption and expenses.
Despite the short implementation period, all planned developments were successfully completed and the set goals were achieved. A building maintenance module and calendar were created, which can be used to ensure timely maintenance of building systems using the Bidrento interface. In addition, the existing Bidrento tenant consumption module was improved by creating a so-called footprint module, the purpose of which is to stimulate the tenant to act in an environmentally sustainable manner. Also, the existing Bidrento cost module was improved from the landlord''s point of view, enabling a comprehensive overview of the tenant''s consumption behaviour.
