Description
Project aims to further develop its existing production software Eziil to provide customers, both existing and new, with even more opportunities to achieve more intelligent and efficient production processes through systematisation, automation and tracking. The platform that will be developed will help to make the work of production companies much more efficient by reducing the burden on the organisation''s management staff and inventory resources, improving productivity and delivery accuracy for both suppliers and the company, increasing order management capability, decreasing the number of errors due to inter-departmental information exchange and reducing the stress level of employees.
The main beneficiary groups of this project will be the end users of the upgraded software platform, primarily small and medium-sized production companies from metal and wood sectors.
Nordic Shelter AS is specialised in design and production of customised container solutions for military and civil purposes. Additionally, they offer all kind of standard freight containers and temporary buildings based on container modules. Their employees have been working with design and production of containers for military purpose and the transport sector for decades. Nordic Shelter staff includes members with long and diverse experience from both logistics and operations in the armed forces.
Cooperation between Eziil and Nordic Shelter will guarantee that the developed solution will meet the requirements of the end consumers. During the project Eziil will develop the bill of material functionality for project-based production, after which Nordic Shelter will test the solution and give feedback during the whole development process. Nordic Shelter will give suggestions and ideas what to do differently and report if they have some issues with software. This ensures the successful launch of the Eziil solution in the target markets, ensuring the clients satisfaction with the end product.
Summary of project results
Project addressed the efficiency in production companies with the aim of enabling smarter and smoother, automated production processes. The service that Eziil offers, is the development of a cooperation system. The company systematises and automates work processes such as sales, inventory management, work planning and reporting to achieve transparency in production.
In the framework of the project, production software that mediates real-time information was developed, which helps to plan and make production more efficient. The “EZIIL” platform is suited for small and medium-sized production companies that do not currently have an overview of their production processes and also do not use software for optimising their activities. EZIIL was specially designed for manufacturing companies with project-based production processes.
Project developments focused on the systematisation of production-related information into one environment, based on which it is possible to plan and transmit digital tasks to delivery workers, which also allows for a real-time overview of production. It helps in production to constantly learn from previous experience. The developments included the following functionalities:
+ material overview of what needs to be ordered;
+ simple project-based operations planning and reporting;
+ simple project reporting mobile application;
+ first version of production overview.
The result of the project has helped manufacturing companies to better manage and plan their production. Although the solution is mainly used in Estonia, Project Promoter is planning steps to move to foreign markets. So far, exports have been limited by the setbacks caused by the corona pandemic and the general economic downturn both in Estonia and on foreign markets.
Summary of bilateral results
The cooperation with the Norwegian partner Nordic Shelter began, but ended due to corona-related issues. Mainly because travel was limited and no connection between partners could be presented. Their participation was limited to attending the opening event in Estonia.
