The project implementer is the Diocesan Charity of České Budějovice (hereinafter DCHCB), which operates the Intervention Center for Persons at Risk of Domestic Violence (IC) in the South Bohemian Region. The project builds on IC''s many years of experience and practice with the victims of domestic violence. The project will include victims of gender-based violence as a new target group to its operations. Generally, it responds to the need for closer cooperation between the various stakeholders assisting the victims of domestic and gender-based violence. The project also reflects on the need raise awareness about the activities of organizations assisting the victims of domestic and gender-based violence in the South Bohemian Region. The main goal of the project is to provide coordinated and systematic support to victims of domestic and gender-based violence through the creation of a functional interdisciplinary platform. Other goals are to increase the professional capacity of the stakeholders involved in providing assistance to the victims of domestic and gender-based violence and to raise awareness of the activities of the organizations operating in the field of providing assistance to these victims among the professionals as well as the general public. The DCHCB Intervention Center will coordinate the platform''s activities. The project will set up a working group of representatives of the relevant stakeholders. It will create the rules for cooperation within the platform and set the procedures for exchanging and sharing information. Project’s experts will implement capacity-building activities designed for professionals involved in the interdisciplinary platform and focused on assistance to the victims of domestic and gender-based violence.
Summary of project results
The need for the project was related to the absence of a functional interdisciplinary platform uniting actors to help victims of domestic/gender violence in the South Bohemian. The challenge was to reach out and involve various actors in cooperation and to increase their professional capacity. The project promoter did not encounter any significant problems. The project fulfilled its goals and led to the start-up and operation of an interdisciplinary platform that cooperates even after the end of the project.
Thanks to the project, an interdisciplinary platform was created that brings together organizations and institutions helping victims of domestic and gender-based violence. The platform entities had (and still have after the end of the project) their representatives in the working group. The organizations involved worked together for the benefit of specific clients. In practice, the interconnectedness of organizations that are better informed about violence and its specifics has improved and increased. Project promoter held interdisciplinary meetings in Strakonice, Písek, Prachatice, České Budějovice, Tábor, Jindřichův Hradec and Český Krumlov. Project promoter devoted themselves to the training of the Police of the Czech Republic. Project Promoter organized a course on sexual violence for representatives of the platform. In total, project promoter trained 80 people during the project. Project promoter organized one professional conference, namely on the foreigner issue of domestic and gender-based violence. The education of workers involved in helping victims was important for improving the quality of care for victims. Platform representatives also spoke to journalists during the press conference. Together with representatives of the platform, project promoter participated in creating the terms of reference for the information campaign. The campaign was provided by an external company. One broadspectrum information campaign took place at the beginning of 2024. It covered the territory of the South Bohemian Region and focused on providing information about entities helping victims. Across the activities of the project, project promoter devoted themselves to its management and the fulfillment of mandatory and optional publicity. To inform about the project, project promoter used the Charity''s website, social networks, printed leaflets, roll-up. Project promoter also used a press conference for journalists and a professional
conference to publicize the project.
Outputs: the creation of an interdisciplinary platform, the professional conference, 80 trained people, a broad-spectrum information campaign about the activities of the platform and the possibilities of helping victims in the South Bohemia. The availability and complexity of services for clients have improved thanks to information from working group meetings, leaflets, training, websites and information campaign. Cooperation between organizations has significantly deepened.
