Description

The project focuses on supporting the prevention of domestic and gender-based violence. It targets a huge problem. Domestic violence transmits between generations within families. It draws an attention to the overlooked fact, but also has the ambition to stop the transmission based on knowledge (data). The transmission of violence is recorded in four-fifths of cases, which is alarming. Social work has little opportunity to prevent transmission.
The project aims to prevent transmission to future generations and strengthen the overall resilience of families to the transmission of violence across generations. This will solve many problems that children, parents, and grandparents face. It will benefit generations affected by the violence, as well as reduce the load on social services. It prevents transmission over time and reduces financial and other costs.
The project consists of two logical and interconnected parts. The first creates knowledge about intergenerational transmission and then intends to interrupt it. The key activity is sociological research carried out among families. It describes the course of intergenerational transmission of violence and names its causes.

The research will provide the basis for the campaign. Czech research organization was invited to guarantee the quality of the research/results. Other activities are campaigns, workshops, and courses. It focuses on the transmission of violence caused by the adoption of patterns, the social pressure and the strong stereotypes traded in families. Therefore, awareness-raising activities will focus on combating them. It will disrupt the transmission of violence in different types of families and strengthen their resilience overall. By targeting the causes, project will be efficient. The awareness campaign will be provided by a selected agency with the ability to target certain types of audiences. The impacts of awareness-raising activities will be verified.
