Description

This project''s aim is based on cooperation between long-term partner universities in Liberec (Czech Republic) and Trondheim (Norway) to prepare innovative educational tools, methods, and approaches. The project focuses on increasing the knowledge of Czech and Norwegian students about the Trends in Management Practices, e.g. in Management Models and topics related to Knowledge Sharing best practices. Activities and intellectual outputs will especially reflect the dynamic situation in the last months of 2020 influenced by trends in the pandemic situation and other up-to-date trends such as digitalisation.
The project objectives are based on various activities used for educational purposes, namely the creation of case studies related to trends and innovative approaches in management in selected organisations (mainly SMEs), online interactive lectures, and video lectures. Moreover, these activities and intellectual outputs will be introduced and further discussed during the multiplier event - dissemination activity between students, academics, and other relevant stakeholders and peer-learning activities in the Czech Republic and Norway.
The project contributes to the attractiveness and innovation of chosen courses at both institutions. The result shall be stronger collaboration for both institutions and creating the possibility for further cooperation, especially in science and research.

Summary of project results

The aim of the TIAM project was to improve the knowledge of Czech and Norwegian students in the area of trends and innovative approaches in managerial practice. The project effectively connected theoretical teaching and educational activities with real challenges and supported intercultural competencies and cooperation between the involved institutions.

The project included the creation of four case studies in cooperation with companies, their pilot testing in teaching and the preparation of innovative teaching materials such as interactive lectures and quizzes. The "Green Future" round table organized as part of the project brought together more than 120 participants and enabled a discussion on aspects of sustainability. Czech students visited Czech organizations as part of the project and gained an overview of trends in the field of management, the use of artificial intelligence and procedures in the field of sustainability.

The project brought together the involved students and academics of both partner institutions on international management topics, modern teaching formats and real business challenges. It strengthened the intercultural competencies of the participants and created the basis for long-term cooperation between the Technical University of Liberec and NTNU.

Summary of bilateral results

The donor project partner played a crucial role in enhancing the project''s outputs, bringing valuable perspectives and resources that positively impacted the whole project cooperation and the results. Namely, it was based on the experience of the Norwegian team members in selected topics (Circular economy, knowledge management and lean management) as well as methods and tools in virtual collaboration. As a result of this fruitful collaboration, we are planning to continue in the future bilateral partnership and initiatives, not only in teaching but also in the research. For this reason, we have already signed a letter of intent with our donor partner.
