Description

The goal of the project Creative Edu Lab is an increase in students’ and teachers’ professional competencies in the field of filmmaking, photography, interior and graphic design, management and production. In partnership with the schools in Norway and Iceland, we will create an educational laboratory for the students and teachers developing their professional and creative skills related to their field. Within the project, the students will be a part of an international team; they will work on a collective task focusing on the grasp of the European countries’ diversity. There will be an outcome in the form of audiovisual outputs depicting nature, cultural heritage and social conditions shaping the everyday life of Norwegian, Icelandic and Czech citizens. We aim to increase the participants’ language and communication skills and awareness of various cultures, traditions, customs and attitudes. We want to motivate our students to focus not only on differences, but also on similarities connecting us.
Teachers will participate in vocational training. They will cooperate with their Icelandic and Norwegian colleagues, sharing their experience, educational methods and know-how in their professional field. They will improve their skills in dual education and organization of practical training. Subsequently, they will apply their new experience and knowledge in the teaching process and update of educational programs.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to increase the professional competences of students and teachers in the field of multimedia, filmmaking, production, photography, graphic and interior design. In a view of the fact these educational fields are developing very quickly, they require constant updating and the contribution of new information. In cooperation with partner schools in Norway and Iceland, we created an educational space - a laboratory that enabled students and teachers to further develop professionally and creatively in their fields. Students worked in international teams on common assignments, the result of which was a series of audio-visual outputs documenting the environment, cultural heritage and social conditions that shape the daily lives of the people of Norway, Iceland and the Czech Republic. They focused not only on the differences of individual cultures, but also on the similarities that unite European countries and enhance commonality. During teamwork, communication skills were strengthened in professional language as well as in everyday communication, students have made new friendships that still last today. As part of the mobilities, the teachers participated in job shadowing, where they collaborated with the Icelandic and Norwegian colleagues and shared their experience, educational methods, and know-how in the field of their professional competences with them. They also focused their attention on the organization of professional internships in foreign companies. The teachers then applied their new experience in their teaching methods and curricula. They also participated in the updating of the school educational programs. The important results were also the improvement of their communication skills in professional terminology and gaining new knowledge and methods in their profession, their personal growth, gaining new contacts and cooperation that goes beyond the scope of the project was also very important.

Summary of bilateral results

We have gained a lot of inspiring experience on how to improve the school climate and a lot of experience from teaching, comparing the curricula which we will use in the updating of school educational programs, but this experience was also very important for the participants'' personal development. Participating in partnerships is a rewarding and exciting experience with many benefits.Due to the successful implementation of the project and smooth communication, we have agreed with our partners on further future cooperation and have thus expanded our portfolio with new international partners.
