Description

In this project, valuable reviews of music and art, together with the works in question, is to be intermediated to a wider audience via popularization podcasts and radio programmes, as well as via the radio website.

As a promoter of concerts of artistically valuable contemporary music connected with other similar promoters, the applicant has the necessary sources of live concert materials. Meetings of authors, artists and critics will be organized and recorded at the studio or at various other places.

The radio programme, podcasts and related websites will be created in cooperation with the Faculty of Theater of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts and planned cooperation with the Department of Musicology of Masaryk University in Brno, as well as with critics from HISvoice magazine and other music reviewers.

A series of music magazines dedicated to contemporary music and its creators, as well as the environment in which it takes place and its social contexts, will attempt to convey contemporary music and sound-art projects also to audiences that are not normally interested in them.

One part of the programme will be devoted to Icelandic production and several programs to Norwegian and Norwegian-Czech projects. One or two episodes should be devoted to works inspired by the culture of minorities (especially Czech Roma and hopefully also Norwegian Sami).

The audience will be motivated to participate actively through audio messages, e-mails, messages on websites, surveys, eventually articles. They will be asked to send questions to artists and critics before recording.

Students will involve their friends and family members in their bonus programmes, obtaining lay reflections on the works in question.

Summary of project results

Radio stations in the country rarely present non-mainstream music and there are no podcast shows
or awareness and dialogue about such music. During the project we analyzed the legal aspect of ondemand
streaming. Final beneficiary found that it is not possible to simply obtain producer licenses for our
intention. Final beneficiary responded to this challenge by developing a comprehensive licensing platform
beyond the original plan. and programmed a simple server for obtaining licenses directly from
primary record owners.

Final beneficiary:

- programmed a website and a license-streaming server, as no similar solution existed to make
the project possible.
-  renovated, equipped and received approval for the radio studio
-  created a unique brand and visual style
-  created a listener base FB page with fans
-  produced and aired the programs to foster discussion and interest in the music
-  organized a press conf. and managed to get media coverage. Listeners learned about the
project and it gained the status it needed

The main outputs are:
- Equipped studio
- 100 alb, 727 m. tracks
- Website
- Licensing and streaming server
- FB page, 836 followers
- 9 podcast series, 76 podc. episodes
