We were established in 2004. Since the time we have been trying profesionalize our service and our team. Instand is known for its social work. Last year we were establish as a Regional Voluntary Centre for our region (procurement by MInistry of Interior). We would like to cooperate closely with local goverment mainly in voluntary issue. Unfornatully we found that we do not have enough capacity in our ourganization and enough experienced team for social, voluntary and political issue. We would like to be more professional and be a partner for local goverment. We need more education and practice for the team (internal, external and volunteers).
Summary of project results
Our organization is dedicated to the development of volunteering in the KV region. We see more problems in our current activity, namely:
low awareness of the value and meaning of volunteering
insufficient transfer of information and know-how between NGOs in the region
lack of awareness in the public administration, which as an employer can be both a beneficiary of volunteer activity and employees can be volunteers.
This fact is largely neglected by the public administration
insufficient development of one''s own organization, lack of continuous education in the field of management, motivational activities, media and digital literacy,
strategic planning, mentoring
insufficient opportunities for training volunteers and their coordinators
As the main cause of the problems, we perceive little information about volunteering externally, the perception of the concept of volunteering by the lay public,
insufficient own capacity to implement planned activities and limited financial resources.
The grant support was used to increase the capacity of existing employees of the organization and the employment of professional staff and lecturers.
The employees of the organization adopted the new knowledge in the field of strategic planning, labor law and documents, social networks and videos,
creation of promotional materials, website management, graphic processing of promotional materials and work with volunteers.
During the implementation of the project, increase in personnel capacities and their maintenance. A strong and stable team was created, which is able to raise
funds for our activity and its development. We spread awareness about our organization (Volunteer Center, Community and Intergenerational Center) within
the Karlovy Vary region (cooperation with NGOs, public administration, schools, the public, volunteers, etc.). To support the promotion of our activities and
volunteering, spots were created as part of the project and a Compendium of Good Practice was also created.
The main contribution of the project was that we clarified our goals, visions and what we want to do next. We did a SWOT analysis and gradually created a
strategic plan.Based on the knowledge gained, we made major changes - we changed the name of the organization, the headquarters and appointed a new
director. We also fulfilled our dream, we acquired new premises, which we reconstructed. We moved the Volunteer Center here and opened the Community
and Intergenerational Center. We feel that in our region there is a need for greater awareness and mutual linking of organizations. Within our organization, we
have created a working group of which they are members representatives of public administration, NGOs and contribution organizations. The goal is
networking, establishing cooperation and passing on information.
