Description

The aim of the Simulation of the session of the Region''s Assembly is to acquaint high school and university students with the functioning of municipal policy, to introduce them to the topics that regions deal with, and to increase their interest in public affairs. During the simulation, students will try out the roles of representatives, debate with politicans from region, and gain information on how local politics works and how they can actively intervene in it. Students can present to politicians ideas for improving the functioning of the region. Participants address issues such as the Green Deal, sustainability, transport, education, etc.

Summary of project results

The project has a long-term impact in more informed, civically active and educated youth, who better understand the role of self-government. We infer the fulfillment
of this impact from the evaluation forms filled in by the participants at the end of the event, where most students state that thanks to the event they gained new knowledge
about the functioning of self-government. In addition, dozens of participants from these simulations were able to see the real European Parliament, and although this is not
entirely the subject of this challenge, they also gained information about the functioning of the European Union. In addition, many of the simulation participants became
more actively interested in public events, joined our association and are now actively planning activities to support civic education for their schoolmates.
