Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to provide integrated social services to the most vulnerable groups in the Nicosia Municipality area and to activate, empower and integrate them into the society. To maximise the impact of the efforts on the whole community, the project aimed to create a "Solidarity Network" that would provide innovative social services to vulnerable groups of people and integrate various social services of Nicosia Municipality and other non-governmental organisations that are active in the Nicosia Municipality area.

For the implementation of the project, a place that functions as a Counselling Center was renovated. The centre offers counselling services, psychosocial support services, legal counselling and family budget counselling, employment and entrepreneurship counselling, that addressed mainly to vulnerable groups such as unemployed women, single parents, large families, immigrants, elderly people, people with disabilities, people of low socioeconomic criteria, etc. At the same time, workshops , events and meetings addressed to these groups as well as to the general population and several civil society organisations have been hosted at the Centre.

The project was also pioneer in the creation and continuous development of the "Solidarity Network", a network of partner organizations, who have signed memorandum of understanding with the Nicosia Municipality for the support of vulnerable groups. The "Solidarity Network" consists of 59 members so far and is constantly expanding. Members of the network are organisations from society, academia, public bodies and other. The project provided services to a total number of 755 people until April 2024.
