Description

The project proposal envisages the modernization and renovation of the city market in the town of Momchilgrad by executing construction and installation works on the market site, purchasing equipment for offering a variety of higher quality services, creating jobs and conducting trainings to improve the employees'' professional qualities and skills. The project includes activities that will contribute to promote local production and local producers, by providing adequate conditions for offering and selling local goods. The realization of the project will help improve the employment and increase the income in the area. After the renovation of the site, specialized equipment necessary for the normal functioning of the city market in Momchilgrad will be purchased: pavilion-type containers, tables with benches, stalls and a toilet. 8 (eight) new jobs will be created for people on the territory of Momchilgrad municipality. Also, within the framework of the project, newly appointed persons will be trained in order to improve their professional qualities and skills. The activity in the project proposal envisages measures for information and publicity of the project goals and results - two press conferences and an event (festival) will be organized, project''s website will be developed, and information materials will be provided: billboard, information board and brochures. A project management team will be assigned for the successful and timely implementation of the project.

Summary of project results

The project had to deal with several main challenges in Momchilgrad municipality. First of all, high levels of unemployment and the lack of sufficient jobs were a serious problem for the local population. In addition, local producers had no sufficient infrastructural facilities where they could sell their products. Also, many of the unemployed in the region needed additional training and upskilling to be able to compete successfully on the labor market.

The project achieved significant results through the implementation of various activities. Firstly, procurement procedures were organized and carried out which led to the supply and installation of grilling kiosks, local produce stalls, and tables and benches. In addition, trainings were conducted for unemployed persons, which increased their qualifications and competitiveness. The project also ensured transparency and efficiency in the process of selecting and hiring new workers. Financial management was excellently organized, with advance and interim payment requests prepared, as well as accurate technical and financial reports. Project publicity was significantly improved through the development of information materials and a website, and various events such as press conferences and festivals increased the project visibility and awareness.

The project achieved significant results that had a positive impact on various groups of beneficiaries. Eight new jobs were created, which directly reduced the unemployment rate in Momchilgrad municipality. Unemployed persons who participated in the project received new job opportunities and increased skills and qualifications. Local producers benefited from the improved infrastructure, which allowed them to sell their products in better conditions. The municipal community also experienced positive effects from the project through the increased economic activity and improved awareness of employment opportunities. Overall, the project contributed to the sustainable development of the region and the improvement of the local population’s quality of life.
