Description

Nasekomo AD is a small company, founded in 2017. The company is producing sustainable insect products (insect protein, oil and frass)  for the animal feed and agriculture industries. It runs also R&D activities around insect biology and production automation.

The main objective of the project is to increase the company''s competitiveness through development of series of technologies leading to an automated insect multiplication and bioconversion allowing the production at industrial scale of sustainable and environmentally-friendly insect’s proteins. The proteins are to be sold for animal feed, replacing traditional sources of protein such as soy and fish meal that have extensive carbon footprint and whose production depletes natural resources (water, land, forests, wild fish, etc.). The technology will enable the supply of billions of young larvae (neonate) to insect bio conversion units where plant-based waste is processed into high-value insect products such as insect protein, oil and fertilizer.
