Description

The current proposal foresees the implementation of a group of activities, estimated to increase the energy efficiency in "Zavod za optika" JSC according to the recommendations made in the conducted energy survey, synthesized in the Energy Efficiency Report, prepared by Technical University ("TU-Sofia") in accordance with Ordinance No. E-RD-04-05 of 09/08/2016. The following measures, the cumulative result of which will be a significant optimization of electricity consumption at maximum production load in the plant, will be implemented as part of the project: (1) Replacement of morally and physically obsolete assets - 7 polishing facilities, with two new energy-efficient machines, which will increase productivity, reduce energy consumption, respectively inflict a positive impact on energy consumption and generated emissions; (2) Introduction of a general exchange ventilation system with a recovery unit for the utilization of waste heat, which will ensure an optimal production environment by achieving effective control of the microclimate and improved circularity of the processes; (3) Installation of an energy management system, which will ensure traceability, predictability and timely control over energy consumption, incl. opportunities for modelling of different approaches for energy saving and resource optimization. The implementation of the project has a direct contribution to the achievement of the goals of the procedure, as it will lead to a significant increase in the efficiency of industrial processes and improved competitiveness of "Zavod za optika" JSC. At the same time, the cooperation with Norsk Energi - a leading consulting company in the field of energy efficiency, will improve the applicant''s capacity both in terms of the qualitative implementation of the investment and in the context of the sustainability of the achieved results and the specific approaches for their future upscale.
