Description
The project proposal envisages the implementation of energy saving measures, prescribed in the prepared energy efficiency report of Street Lighting at Marin Boev Street, Georgi Dimitrov Street, 23 Septemvri Street, Otets Paisiy Street, Cyril and Methodius "," Raina Knyaginya "," Hristo Botev ","Dimitar Blagoev "," Hristo Smirnenski "," Georgi Mihailov "," Rayko Daskalov "," St. Ivan Vazov "and Philip Totyu Street in Knezha, Knezha Municipality. According to the regulation, the following measures are envisaged: 1. Replacement of luminaires with new LED luminaires: The proposed measure includes replacement of all luminaires with new Led luminaires with power from 22 to 100W, min. 120-140lm / W. The luminaires must have zero light upward. The luminaires will have electronic ballast and a efficiency of 95%. 2. Installation of solar lamps for sidewalk lighting: The possibility of using renewable energy sources to supply street lighting on sidewalks has been evaluated. It is possible to use a solar lamp with a built-in battery with a power of 20W, without the need for additional power supply. The measure will save 12% of total energy consumption after ECM. The envisaged activities aim at increasing the energy efficiency through technological upgrading and modernization of outdoor artificial lighting systems. The main purpose of the project is to reduce carbon intensity and increase security of supply, as well as achieving the following results:
• Improving the energy efficiency of street lighting on the territory of Knezha;
• Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions;
• Reduction of the energy costs of the municipality;
• Improving the quality of street lighting and increasing the percentage of light;
• Improving road safety for drivers and pedestrians at night. • Increasing the production of energy from renewable sources;
• Increasing the capacity of the beneficiary in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy management.
Summary of project results
The street lighting within the scope of the project included fluorescent lighting fixtures with different power, having a low luminous flux with high energy consumption. The lighting control is automatic, using photo relays and is autonomous for each transformer station. The measurement of the consumed electricity is carried out in each street lighting panel with a separate electricity meter. The equipment for the control and protection of the street lighting - fuses, contactors and electricity meters are installed in the low voltage panels of the transformer stations.
The implementation of the project aims to carry out an energy-efficient modernization of the street lighting, covering part of the territory of the city of Knezha, by replacing old energy-intensive lighting fixtures with new high-efficiency LED lighting fixtures, installing solar lamps for sidewalk lighting and introducing a Street Lighting Management System.
With the implementation of the project, old energy-intensive lighting fixtures, have been replaced with new high-efficiency LED luminaires. Solar lamps for sidewalk lighting with a built-in battery with a power of 20W have been installed, without the need for additional power supply. A street lighting control system has been implemented with a function for reducing the power of lighting at night.
The modernization of the outdoor artificial lighting system in the town of Knezha achieves a reduction in the electricity consumed for lighting, respectively in the municipality''s costs for its purchase, creates an opportunity for electricity savings and optimization of lighting service and maintenance costs through the implemented management and monitoring system, improves lighting, including at night, and improves the living conditions of the population.
Summary of bilateral results
Improved bilateral cooperation with interested stakeholders in the field of energy efficiency to present good practices and future development of the city and the municipality in this regard.
