Description

Project is aimed at reconstruction and modernization of the municipal infrastructure-systems for external artificial illumination of the town of Velingrad, through implementation of 2 main energy saving measures (ESM). The recommended ESM 1 consists in delivery and installation of new luminaires (replacement of available old ones)-285 PCs. 80 W, 823 PCs. 40 W, 30 PCs. 25W, 1046 PCs. 20 W, 25 PCs. 15 W. ESM 2 consists of the introduction of the intelligent system for automated management, control and monitoring of the MA with included software, hardware and equipment at the dispatching point. The implementation of the project will take place in partnership between the municipal administration-Velingrad and specialized Norwegian company Sigra Group, Oslo for exchange of experience and know-how in the field of realization of the ESM for energy efficient external artificial lighting. The project includes measures to ensure publicity and visualization, the team of the candidate, formed for the realization of the project proposal, is qualified and with previous 3 years relevant experience, a high degree of readiness of the project Proposal-prepared and validated according to Spatial Planning Act work design (option 1).The main objective is to increase energy efficiency through technological renewal of the system for external artificial lighting of the town of Velingrad and improvement of the living conditions of the population. Specific objectives of the project: 1. Reduction of energy consumption of the external artificial lighting system and respectively CO2 emissions by applying the two proposed ESM; 2. Creating an effective partnership between the municipal administration and the Norwegian partner and exchanging relevant experience and know-how. 

Summary of project results

Street lighting is currently insufficient, physically and morally outdated to fulfill the task of illuminating the territory in accordance with regulatory requirements and ensuring a comfortable environment for the movement of people and motor vehicles during the dark part of the day. Replacement of the existing old lighting fixtures high-pressure mercury lamps, metal halide lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, fluorescent lamps.

dismantling of existing lighting fixtures and installation of new ones, delivery of new 80 W LED lights, delivery of new 25 W LED lights, delivery of new 20 W LED lights, delivery of new 15 W LED lights. Street lighting management and monitoring system introduced.

Significant improvement of lighting, bringing it into compliance with regulatory requirements, improving the quality of light from lighting sources and creating a comfortable urban environment.
Increased security and safety in the dark. Reduced electricity costs and reduced consumption.

Summary of bilateral results

Improved bilateral cooperation with interested stakeholders in the field of energy efficiency to present good practices and future development of the city and the municipality in this regard.
