Description

 The overall objective of this project proposal is to increase energy efficiency and improve living conditions in the Municipality of Vratsa by technological upgrading and modernization of an external artificial lighting system. The main activities are the replacement of 927 pcs. luminaires, installation of 380 pcs. solar lamps for sidewalks, supply and installation of new resources for monitoring energy consumption and equipment to the management system as well as project management, exchange of experience and good practices, publicity and visualization, etc.  Expected results are improved EE in the city, reduced CO2 emissions, energy and money savings, contemporary and modern street lighting, which will have extended life and reduced maintenance costs. The safety of people and motor vehicles will be increased. The overall objective of this project proposal is to increase energy efficiency and improve living conditions in the Municipality of Vratsa by technological upgrading and modernization of an external artificial lighting system. Specific objectives of the project proposal are: • Energy savings and reduction of CO2 emissions through modernization of street lighting in Vratsa Municipality - with saved 693,474 MWh/y energy and 818.30 t/y CO2 emissions will contribute to the achievement of Bulgaria''s and the EU''s environmental and climate protection goals. • Reduction of light pollution and electricity losses. • Increasing the production of energy from renewable sources by 10.31% by installing 380 pcs. solar lamps for sidewalks. • Improving the quality of street lighting in the city of Vratsa by replacing old cushioned street lamps and inefficient CFLs with new LED lighters. • Creating conditions for safety and security of the movement of citizens and motor vehicles during the dark part of the day and last but not least creating a comfortable and aesthetic night atmosphere in the urban environment.
