Description

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen social and economic development in Europe through transnational cultural cooperation and exchange of good practices between Bulgaria and Norway in the field of choral and vocal art. The specific objectives of the project are : to improve young people''s access to culture and art, including for disadvantaged and ethnic groups, at local and regional level in the field of singing and choral art; to improve the capacity of the Darby Foundation in the field of audience attraction and knowledge transfer through training of expert staff to improve their professional competencies and skills; to create a common platform for exchange of knowledge and good practices through cultural cooperation with the Norwegian organization Culture Break Borders; to develop new audiences in different regions of Bulgaria by a series of cultural events within the festival “Bulgaria-Norway Sing!” and transnational cooperation; to improve entrepreneurship in the field of culture by developing and implementing a plan for attracting audiences in the field of singing and choral art.

Summary of project results

“Bulgaria – Norway sing” is a project implemented by the Darby Foundation in partnership with the Norwegian non-governmental organization “CULTURE BREAK BOARDERS”. The general vision of the project is related to strengthening social and economic development in Europe through transnational cultural cooperation and exchange of good practices between Bulgaria and Norway in the field of choral and singing art.

The project improved young people''s access to culture and art, including for disadvantaged and ethnic groups, at local and regional level in the field of singing and choral art. The project activities included: improving entrepreneurship in the field of culture by developing and implementing a plan to attract an audience in the field of singing and choral art; improving Darbi Foundation’s outreach and knowledge transfer capacity by training expert staff to improve their professional competencies and skills, as well as creating a software platform for sharing knowledge and experience.

A joint choir concert through telebridge was organised under the project, as well as a traveling tour. It improved the capacity of the Darbi Foundation in the field of audience attraction and knowledge transfer through training of expert staff to improve their professional competencies and skills. The project also lead to the creation of a common platform for exchange of knowledge and good practices through cultural cooperation with the Norwegian organization CULTURE BREAK BORDERS.

Summary of bilateral results

The bilateral cooperation under the “Bulgaria – Norway sing” project broadened the participants'' horizons via workshops of Bulgarian and Norwegian conductors who got in touch with the different choral practices and musical choral creativity of the two countries.
