Description

The event is planned to be organized in the 4Q of 2019 in Slovakia. The event shall reflect the thematic scope of the Small Grant Scheme (SGS 1) to be launched within the Outcome 1/Output 1.2: „Awareness raising activities on climate change mitigation and adaptation carried out by schools” as specified in the Annex II of the Programme Agreement.
There are more than 3 000 schools from Slovakia considered as potential applicants for the SGS. This predefined activity was approved by Cooperation Committee within the Written procedure of SK-Climate programme No. 1/2019. The PO´s aim was to support

Summary of the results

The event was held on 20th November 2019 in the municipality of Štiavnické Bane, Slovakia. The target groups of the event were the primary and secondary schools from Slovakia and potential Partners from Norway as the Donor States. At the event, schools had an opportunity to present awareness raising activities on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, planned to be implemented within the Call SGS 1 (ACC03 3) launched on 31st December 2019 under the small grant scheme call for project proposals. The initiative was attended by 45 primary and secondary schools from Slovakia (out of a total of 54 registered schools) and 4 schools from Norway. The initiative was prepared and organized in close cooperation with the program''s donor partners. In order to disseminate examples of good practice and promote the "EEAchdropcounts" campaign, the event program was enriched by a visit to the local Maximilian Hill Primary School in connection with its successful green school green education project.
