Summary of the results

The event was organized on 29th October 2019 in the premises of the Donor Programme Partner, the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate in Oslo, Norway.  The target groups of the event were representatives of the Slovak municipalities with population over 15,000 inhabitants and potential Partners from the Donor States. The aim of the activity was fulfilled by supporting the first interaction between the relevant stakeholders from Norway and Slovakia. The initiative of new partner-searching, and partnership during the preparation of a project proposal was clearly supported. Furthermore, information on supporting the bilateral cooperation between municipalities with actors from the Donor States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), as an integral part of the SK-Climate Programme, was presented. The initiative was attended by 16 cities from Slovakia (out of a total of 71 eligible cities with a population of over 15,000) and 10 cities from Norway. All participating cities presented their ongoing as well as planned activities and measures in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation what was a high added value for establishing the first contact for the creation of a future partnership. The Programme Operator and the Donor programme partners cooperated together actively to ensure that the target groups were sufficiently involved and to contribute to the establishment of partnerships.
