The purpose of this initiative is to provide assistance to the Ukrainian refugees who have obtained the status of temporary protection as displaced persons to help them to integrate more easily in the Slovenian society.

The objectives of the initiative are to provide:

  1. Information on the basic knowledge of the rights which temporarily displaced persons are entitled to;
  2. Ukrainian refugees with a brief orientation course on the main specifics of life in Slovenia which would significantly speed up their integration into the society;

Summary of the results

The bilateral activity “Basic integration assistance for the displaced persons from Ukraine with temporary protection in Slovenia” was successfully completed by 31 December 2022. The purpose of this initiative was to assist the Ukrainian refugees with the status of temporary protection as displaced persons and to help them integrate more easily in Slovenian society. The initiative was implemented by the Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants. The assistance was provided in the refugee facilities and online.  Also, basic literacy in Slovenian language, assistance with the learning process, and free time activities for school children that continue education in Slovenian school system was provided. The relevant information about the rights of temporarily displaced persons and other related content is widely spread and available on several internet sites also in the Ukrainian language (https://www.gov.si/uk/temi/dopomoga-yaku-slovenya-nada-gromadyanam-ukrani/).
