Summary of the results

The SYNERGY Network against Gender-based and Domestic Violence is a strategic network reuniting governmental and non-governmental actors playing key roles in different programs addressing domestic and gender – based violence (DGBV) supported by the EEA/Norway Grants 2014-2021. Romania’s dedicated agency (ANES) was represented to the 4th meeting of the SYNERGY Network, organized on 08.10.2019, in Prague, by Norwegian Ministry of Justice. It focused on teen dating violence & cybercrime and awareness-raising campaigns on DGBV, where ANES delegation stressed the positive aspects on the introduction of certain social services for the victims of domestic violence. ANES will reflect on several best practices presented by Norwegian delegation, in the light of the upcoming National Strategy for the prevention and fight against sexual violence „SINERGIE 2020-2030”.

The Romanian delegation also participated to the Conference „European experience with the Istanbul Convention”, organized in Prague on 07.10.2019, by Czech Ministry of Finance, on the importance of ratification and implementation of the Istanbul Convention at European level. In order to better inform the decision making on the ratification of the Istanbul Convention by the Czech Republic a discussion on various aspects deriving from its ratification was held. On this occasion, ANES representatives presented the positive aspects and concrete measures resulting from the ratification of the Istanbul Convention by Romania.
