Explore the state of the liberal democratic order in their respective countries from various political, social and historical perspectives. Compare and contrast recent Romanian and Icelandic experiences of societal crises. Compare and contrast Romanian and Icelandic responses to societal disruptions, such as democratic transitions, political and economic crises and pandemics and put them in a broader European context. Summary of the results
The initiative objectives were achieved, with three conferences and workshops having been held in Cluj/Turda and Reykjavik, organized in a manner that made compatible the differences of schedule and semester planning of the two universities.
The contributions of participants at the conferences and workshops were consistent with these objectives. The project was approached from a wide range of academic disciplines, including political science, history, literature, economics, law, philosophy, gender studies, and medical studies
