Description

The aim of the initiative is to develop enhanced knowledge of Russia''s behaviour in the Kola Peninsula and the Arctic region, as well as in the Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea region – and to compare in terms of similarities and differences. This will provide support for the institutions with responsibilities in the security and foreign affairs field, which can use this resource to better understand how Moscow plans its activities and can also contribute to the reinforcement of the means to address them.

Summary of the results

According to the original plan the project was to produce

4 Policy Briefs – three have been published 2 Joint reports/Working papers – 3 have been published

1 Final Report – has been published    1 Academic article – is in the pipeline

Most of these tangible project objectives have been achieved but some – the final policy brief and the the academic article is still in the pipeline.

When embarking on this project the project team decided to conduct several studies involving leading national experts working on the relevant questions. The results of these studies have been presented in several publications produced by members of the project team in cooperation with other leading national expert milieus.
