Description

The main objective of the bilateral initiative is to promote decent working conditions for workers, fair competition for companies and sustainable welfare systems by performing joint or coordinated inspections, sharing of good practice and information activities in close cooperation between the labour inspectorates and their partners in Romania and Norway.

Summary of the results

improving the knowledge of Romanian workers and employers of the rules and regulations regarding work in the Kingdom of Norway and strengthening the ability of workers to use this knowledge to benefit from fair working conditions.
- improving the knowledge, by the two parties, of effective ways to combat undeclared and illegal work, to ensure fair competition on the labor market and safe working conditions for workers, through the exchange of good practices and relevant information.
- promoting the advantages of tripartite cooperation in the fight against undeclared work, through the cooperation of the authorities and social partners from the two states.
- improving the knowledge of labor inspectors of the legislation, national practices and organizational culture in the two states and establishing direct contacts between counterparts, in order to facilitate future cooperation regarding practical cases involving companies or workers from these states .
- improving the efficiency of controls by providing mutual assistance, in specific cases.
