This project will improve advocacy and strategic communication capacity on issues regarding gender equality, LGBTQ rights and anti-discrimination; will disseminate the results of organisation’s previous activities on gender equality, LGBTQ rights and anti-discrimination, results obtained in other projects financed by EEA Grants; will identify good practices in the field among organisations in Iceland, share them with strategic partners and replicate them in association work. Summary of the results

Through this project, ACTEDO aimed to address the issue of anti-gender movements and hate speech and discrimination against gender equality activists and LGBTQ individuals, responding to organizational needs for enhancing advocacy and strategic communication capacity on gender equality, LGBTQ rights, and antidiscrimination, disseminating ACTEDO''s previous work on these topics, and identifying and disseminating best practices from Iceland.

The main activities of the project include: a study visit to nine non-governmental organizations and public institutions in Iceland working in the fields of human rights, gender equality, and LGBTQ rights, leading to the identification of best practices and the strengthening of bilateral relationships and a podcast of three episodes containing interviews with representatives of the Icelandic organizations visite.

The main outcomes of the project include: a brochure featuring best practices in gender equality, anti-discrimination, and LGBTQ+ rights identified in Iceland, handbooks and reports on the thematic aspects.The beneficiaries of this project were primarily ACTEDO as an organization, and the five members who enhanced their knowledge and skills in advocacy and strategic communication. Secondarily, collaborating NGOs of ACTEDO also benefited, and the general public, who were informed about the project''s activities and improved their understanding of the socio-political context in Romania and Iceland regarding human rights.
