The BI consists in an artistic workshop, which will make use of film literacy and smartphone tech to promote in its participants a reflection on their role in the global and intercultural world, within the scope of human rights and the practice of active citizenship.Through non-formal education methodologies, the BI intends to create a safe space for collective sharing and new discoveries – personal and intercultural –between this two groups of youngsters.Using their smartphone, each participant will be invited to reflect on their social identity based on the challenges and opportunities of
Summary of the results
In a partnership with the International Film Festival of Haugesund and following the results-based management approach, the initiative enabled a group of Portuguese students to to travel to Norway.
The initiative included a workshop, with the support of the secondary school of Haugesund - Vardafjell, in the scope of which 6 short films and a documentary were produced documentary, the result of the co-creation of 16 young Portuguese people, with the help of 4 Norwegian presented at the International Film Festival of Haugesund, in the ''48 hour Film Race and in the public ceremony promoted by the Cerco School, Campanhã, Porto.
This experience also allowed the group of Portuguese students to experience how other young people, of the same age, can have access to better resources, giving them new critical perspectives on their own contexts, understanding the structural inequalities that shape individual paths and feeling more involved in reflection and dialogue about themselves.
Through contact with new Norwegian schools and friends, this initiative also allowed them to broaden horizons, build and aspire to new perspectives on a personal, cultural and professional level.
Likewise, for the Norwegian participants, this was an important cultural exchange, which led to new understandings about social inequalities between countries, namely through the testimonies of Portuguese students, who shared their struggles and social practices.
