This bilateral initiative aims at addressing gender equality in the urban dynamics of cities, targeting walkability and autonomy issues related to safety, perception of safety and risk which affect the relationship between women, and girls, as pedestrians and the cities where they live, work and play.

Summary of the results
Following the results-based management approach, the bilateral initiative proposed to develop a set of activities to systematically integrate healthy and gender-friendly communities, tackling the "invisibility" of certain socio-economic groups of women who tend to be segregated, namely, low-income women, women from ethnic minorities, older women who are unable to afford alternative safe transport when needed.
The initiative''s outputs also aim at implementing urban design solutions that counteract asymmetries in personal free time, including time for leisure activities, which affect mostly "invisible" groups.
