Summary of the results

This project contributes mainly to the goal of strengthening bilateral relations. Through our collaboration with the Artic University of Norway, we have established an ongoing collaboration between our team or researchers, and our colleagues in Tromso. Besides working together on this project, we are exploring joint applications to research grants and subsequent projects after this one, and a new project, DigiCross, has already started. Also, we are connecting kindergartens that are participating in our project in Tromso and in Lisbon. They are exchanging experiences and best practices.
Concerning the goal of reducing economic and social disparities, we have identified a gap in the perceptions of the Portuguese and the Norwegian parents and Early Childhood Educators about young children using digital media. These perceptions are predominantly positive and supportive in Norway and negative and restrictive in Portugal. With our comparative project, we are promoting an exchange of experiences that will hopefully lead to shortening that gap, resulting in a more balanced, conscious, informed and moderate vision about the digital practices of 0-3 children. We believe that the 10 workshops that we conducted had a strong impact on the attendees, who were mainly Early Childhood Education, Education and Psychology students.
