Description
The aim of this project is to create a platform for sharing experience, build cooperation, create synergies, and facilitate networking. It will involve a seminar devoted to best pratices in the field of gender equality, followed by networking opportunity. More precisely, the first day of the seminar focus on special measures that have paved the way for gender equality by extensive legislative improvements. The second day focus on specific areas of interest, where Icelandic partners introduce different means to empower the agents of change for gender equality in the respective EEA beneficiary
Summary of the results
The aim for this initiative was to hold a multinational conference that took place in Reykjavík, Iceland, on 31 October – 1 November 2019, in order to bring together agents of change for gender equality in the Beneficiary and Donor States and to foster potential future cooperation under the EEA Grants. In this event were introduced successful tools and techniques in the field of gender equality in particular the Nordic approach and facilitated the transfer of best practices from Iceland, Portugal, Norway and the Beneficiary States. The target group of the conference was key policy makers in the field of gender equality in all BSs of the EEA Grants. The initial target was exceeded (100 participants), with a total number of 139 participants. Main result: Raised awareness of participant’s gender equality issues and of best practices in the field of GE through lectures, discussions, panels and match-making events. It was developed a tool-box for stakeholders including presentations from various sectors and produced policy recommendations on Gender Equality for future strategies.
The whole conference was streamed on the web and presentations made available to all participants after the conference. Concerning the cooperation sustainability, and according to the survey sent out after the conference, 3 attendees answered that a concrete cooperation is already being developed, and 17 attendees answered that concrete cooperation is possible in the future.
