Summary of the results

The Bilateral Initiative definitely contributed to the two EEA Grants overall objectives, namely:
 Reducing economic and social disparities – All the work developed towards fostering child participation and raising children’s awareness to their right to participate contributes to substantiate equal opportunities, which, in turn, will produce an impact towards the reduction of economic and social disparities. Once disseminated online to the public at large, both outputs of the initiative are expected to contribute to this goal throughout time, acting as a source of information and inspiration to all those interested in Portugal, Norway and beyond, while presenting concrete examples of what can be implemented in the field and potentially adapted to a very wide range of realities in multiple countries.
 Strengthening bilateral relations – The development of this Bilateral Initiative strengthened the bilateral relations between Norway and Portugal as it contributed to expand mutual knowledge within the scope of the promotion of the rights of the child, provided valuable insights on the organization of the systems and on the conceptual framework underlying the past, present and future work in this field in both countries and contributed to stimulate the further development of bilateral relations in other areas of mutual interest.
