Description

Mission of Norwegian and Icelandic companies to participate in the Business Meeting in Portugal with the goal of promoting and developing joint projects in the realm of the blue economy, including the application of innovative research-driven technology and processes that are potential applicants and partners for the business component of the EEA Grants Blue Growth programme and beyond.

Summary of the results

17 Norwegian companies and 2 Icelandic companies participated in the mission (19 in total) and the conference had more than 80 participants. 120 meetings were held between Portuguese, Norwegian and Icelandic participants, with 63 meetings requested by the Norwegian / Icelandic side and 57 by the Portuguese side.
The meetings held made it possible to reach cooperation agreements between the parties (17) and / or confirmed the possibility of cooperation in the future (106). A satisfaction survey was conducted to which 55 participants out of 146 registered (38%) responded, with 34 responses from Portuguese representatives and 18 from Norwegian / Icelandic:
98% say that the expectations for the conference have been reached (54);
95% rated the participants'' profile and ease of scheduling meetings as “excellent” (24) or “good” (28);
82% rated the relevance of bilateral meetings as “excellent” (17) or “good” (28);
The initiative was a relevant for ensuring transfer of knowledge about the state of the art of various subsectors of the sea industry in Portugal, Norway and Iceland, contributed to the development of new partnerships and commercial relations, resulting in an increase of international business and joint R&D projects for the creation of innovative products within the sea sector through applications to the EEA Grants.
