Description

This BCI is about trying to redefine a joint strategy of civil society, NGO and municipality, in order to deepen new models of local development that aim at social inclusion and active aging projects. The promoter, in partnership with the local authority and together with local and regional organizations that expressed interest in the project and with the collaboration of the Norwegian entity and a national expert in social inclusion projects, designed the P.E.C.I.S. which aims to be an instrument for the inclusion and training of local NGOs, as well as a methodology for sustainable local

Summary of the results

The initiative successfully facilitated the sharing of experiences and best practices in the fields of Performing Arts, Active Aging, and Social Inclusion. Through the training program, a network of local agents (both social and cultural) was empowered with methodologies, resources, and tools related to ''Theater and Memory'' and Co-Creation.

The training benefited 8 agents representing 6 different entities, including NGOs and public and private entities from Vila do Porto. Due to the success of the consortium''s networked work, both the Vila do Porto City Council and the NGO Transform expressed interest in collaborating on new artistic projects and cultural initiatives with social impact, focusing on participation, citizenship, active ageing, social inclusion, and the empowerment of vulnerable groups.

These two expressions of interest have already led to the development of four project ideas, both nationally and internationally. Upon completing the training, the beneficiaries presented several project ideas incorporating the methodologies and resources learned during the PECIS. Among these, three prototype initiatives stood out for their high likelihood of being implemented in future projects by the entities and NGOs in Vila do Porto.
