Summary of the results
In the frame of the project, we organized 2 summer camps, which were attended by a total of 40 women and 60 children. Both camps took place in village Kamień (Izery mountains)
Our project had an inclusive profile. The 2 camps were attended by families originally from small Ukrainian towns/rural areas, also children with mental and physical disabilities (autism, cerebral palsy)
Both camps had a rich program of various activities both indoors and outdoors - namely a trip to the mountains, a cultural excursion to Jelenia Gora, drumming workshops, ceramics, natural cosmetics, yoga, voice and body work, supporting circles with psychologists, etc.
The main aims of the prepared activities, which were previously carefully discussed by Foundation psychologists and social workers, were:
- to create a safe, supportive space for refugee women and their children where they can work through their experiences of war, express and release their emotions, stabilize their mental state;
- to help refugee women and their children work through negative emotions (such as anger, fear, anxiety) using art therapy - body work, voice work, making music together.
- to show refugee women how to deal with stress - using various tools as movement, nature, breathing exercises, self-massage, etc.
