Description

The current trends in bird species’ populations that breed in Northern Europe and migrate to Western Europe and/or Africa along the so-called East Atlantic Flyway (EAF) are negative and decreasing annually. Since the migratory bird populations are crossing borders, their welfare is an international issue by definition. Networks of protected areas SPA/ASCI/IBA located along the EAF are a potentially important tool for protection of migratory birds and their habitats.
