Before leaving Ukraine Iryna Miedviedieva was employed in The Institute of Ecology of the Carpathians of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and she was working on her Ph.D. thesis. Due to a war outbreak she moved to Poland. Soon she made contact with ornithologists from UR and asked for an unpaid internship. Her application was approved and since then she takes part in research activities of professor Węgrzyn’s research team. As a team member she participates in monitoring of bird migration and distribution. In winter Iryna will take part in the project with bird feeders which will
