Summary of the results
An assessment of 84 hospitals within the 23 Ukrainian Oblasts believed to be accessible was carried out. Data was collected on their current activities, size and capacity issues. From the total list of hospitals surveyed 50 of the most in need were selected according to a range of factors to indicate their most urgent needs. These included, location, size, function, presence of emergency surgery or emergency maternity departments. Orders forms were prepared with medical items and medications in English/Polish/Ukrainian. Hospitals were then given order forms where they detailed their custom needs.
Shipping was done by both commercial and volunteer partners. Some deliveries towards the latter half of the project were delayed due to frequent attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure making delivery coordination difficult and significantly increasing delivery time. All 50 orders were eventually fulfilled. A few were in multiple parts, bringing the number of deliveries that left the warehouse to 54.
