Target group: students of law or sociology (or students of last years),Young scholars (PhD candidates and early career scholars); legal professionals (judges, prosecutors, attorneys), mostly from Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic States; Civil servants working in judicial or ombudsman institutions

The Summer School would be organized in Gdansk in the last week of August. The Legal Education Summer School intends to integrate scholars, postgraduate (or last years) students and professionals. It will be an educational project with additional research and networking purposes. Thanks to

Summary of the results

The Summer School integrated scholars, postgraduate students and professionals around the idea of the rule of law over a 10 days long educational project with additional research and networking purposes. Participants: postgraduate students of law or sometimes students of last years of study, young scholars, legal professionals (attorneys), civil servants working in judicial or ombudsman institutions, officers of international organizations (EU, Council of Europe, OSCE). In the Summer School participated students mostly from Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic states in the total number of 40. Curriculum included lectures, seminars and interactive trainings. As part of the program students of the Summer School were also asked to develop their own projects addressing certain problems concerning rule of law in their community. All projects has been recorded and majority of them are supposed to be implemented at some later stage. All project goals have been achieved.

The overall reflection of the Summer School was very good. All of the participants were very satisfied and expressed their positive opinion in anonymous evaluation form filled in after completion of the program. Both lecturers and students expressed their gratitude for participating and are hopping for continuation of the program in the future.
