Description

The initiative focused on public policies related to professional activation and employment of young people with disabilities in Poland and Norway in the context of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (ratified in Poland in 2012, in Norway in 2007). The aim of the initiative was to raise public awareness about the problems of disabled people in education and on the labour market by acquiring knowledge about good practices in Norway in the area of active participation in the labour market and employment of students and graduates with disabilities.

Summary of the results

3 articles were written in English to disseminate partial results of the project, research results were presented at 4 conferences, including international ones. Empirical research carried out in Poland and Norway (interviews with personal assistants and experts). Final publication "A shadow that allows you to come out of the shadow. Personal Assistance for People with Disabilities in Poland and Norway" and brochure "Personal assistance for people with disabilities" produced. In November 2022, the final conference of the project was organised at the University of Warsaw with the participation of guests from Norway (all the project partners), who gave presentations. The conference also included a panel discussion on the challenges of implementing and disseminating personal assistance services in Poland and the possibilities of using the Norwegian experience. The conference was attended by more than 60 participants.
