Description

Nature tourism in Kurzeme has grown recently, with new trails like the Coastal and Forest Hiking Trails, and efforts to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, seniors, and young families. However, trail maintenance is challenged by slow administrative processes and limited resources. Inspired by Norway’s Agder region, which uses volunteers for trail upkeep, Kurzeme is developing a similar approach. In return, Agder can benefit from Kurzeme’s experience in inclusive tourism.
