Description

The main objective was to strengthen cooperation between regional authorities, which contribute to the establishment of new partnerships and social and economic cohesion on regional and local level in Latvia.  During the study visit parties changed experience in entrepreneurship support and youth employment issues as well as discussed planned pre-defined project activities and cooperation. The actual expenditures of the initiative - 2829 euro.

1) improved knowledge about the donor state partner activities and experience in education/ youth, entrepreneurship, innovation

Summary of the results

The Riga Planning Region has implemented the initiative of the Bilateral Cooperation Fund in accordance with the information specified in the initiative application, and its purpose fully corresponds to the purpose of the DSF initiative approved by the Programme Cooperation Committee. As part of the DSF initiative implementation, the Riga Planning Region visited the Hordalanda Region Administration, the partner of the pre- defined project "Entrepreneurship Support Measures in the Riga Planning Region" (the project), where they met with the person responsible for the project''s development and representatives from the education/youth, entrepreneurship, and development departments. They also visited Impact HUB Bergen, the Bergen Innovation Center VIS, the Bergen Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Connect Vest, and the Business Support Center of Usa. The information and knowledge obtained will be used to develop the detailed activities of the Riga Planning Region project, and the promotion of bilateral relations with the Donor State has also been facilitated.
