Description

The aim of the initiative is to continue, in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy in Riga, to provide information, explain and involve the public in Latvia in the support of the Grants and achieved results in Latvia. The conversation festival LAMPA ensures an environment for direct communication and the exchange of thoughts among various representatives of the public and direct discussion with society on site. The initiative foresees participation in conversation festivals 4 times, including one participation is planned in one of the donor state (DS), where similar democratic conversation

Summary of the results

Participation in four public festivals was successfully ensured within the initiative, where a total of 30 discussions were organized on a wide range of topics related to the Grants programmes. These events served as platforms to demonstrate the objectives and results achieved in the supported projects, highlighting their impact on various sectors in Latvia.

Among the featured discussions were:



  • Honest Conversation: "Can we (not) afford to be green?" – exploring the balance between environmental sustainability and economic realities.




  • Discussion: "Eastern Borderlands – Challenges and Solutions" – addressing regional development and cross-border cooperation.




  • Science Theatre Performance – an innovative approach to communicating science and research through performance art.




  • Discussion: "Being Good in Prison" – reflecting on rehabilitation and social integration within the justice system.


Discussions were attended by the project promoters of the programmes, specialists of various fields and academic staff, donorstates experts, giving the views of donor country professionals on programmes supported by Grants. As a result of the discussions, the audience gained information on donorstates'' support for Latvia, as well as on how the supported changes are already working in Latvia.
