The purpose: to identify and learn from  the best examples of home care service delivery; how to ensure personal care by using services (if the person has chosen / is involved in such care), how to provide nursing care at home , so, that the person''s safety, comfort, independence, and sense of security is always promoted. The main topics explored during the study visit: distribution and organization of services in the country; homecare planning; continuity of services; palliative care; management and support home care workers; legislation; funding.  It was an opportunity to establish

Summary of the results

The purpose of the visit was to identify and learn from the best examples of home care service delivery; how to ensure personal care by using services (if the person has chosen / is involved in such care), how to provide nursing care at home, so, that the person''s safety, comfort, independence, and sense of security is always promoted. The main topics explored during the study visit: distribution and organization of services in the country; homecare planning; continuity of services; palliative care; management and support of home care workers; legislation; funding.  It was an opportunity to establish relations with Norwegian counterparts for further cooperation.

Issues of long-term care organization (procedure and principles of service organization and provision) were discussed with the representatives from the nursing homes, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, the Norwegian Directorate of Health,  the Norwegian National Center for Health and Aging, the Carpe Diem Dementia Center.
