Description

The main objective of the project is to strengthen cooperation between Croatian and Norwegian experts in the field of brownfield site remediation in the coastal area. Project results will include joint development and exchange of good practices in the field of ecosystem-based remediation strategies for marine brownfields, and at the same time ensuring preservation of marine and aquatic areas and enhancing possibilities for green and sustainable tourism in such locations. This will be achieved through the activities of joint meetings, technical visits, capacity building workshops and short-term

Summary of the results

During the initiative meetings and technical visits in Norway, including workshop in Notodden site and NOAH company were organized. All together 2 meetings with the Norwegian experts in brownfield remediation and 2 technical visits have been made to ensure knowledge transfer towards the Croatian partners. To foster innovation and collaboration among students, consortium organized student hackhaton in Dugi Rat, Croatia in the area that has been landfilled and abandoned. The hackathon was enriched by the presence of Norwegian experts specializing in brownfield remediation, guiding the participants towards innovative solutions. All the presentations made by the experts in brownfield remediation were filmed and later posted on the project website. As a culmination of the initiative, a comprehensive brownfield remediation roadmap was formulated. Drawing upon the ideas generated during the board meetings, the insights shared by the experts and strategic planning, this strategy outlined actionable steps for revitalizing brownfield site in Dugi Rat. In addition, two project expert board meetings took place, leveraging their collective expertise to provide guidance and strategic direction for the project''s initiatives. In total 47 participants from Croatia and 6 participants from Norway took part in 4 bilateral events and 5 joint results were created (state of the art in Croatia and Norway, website, video and brownfield remediation roadmap).
