Description

Gender equality is a cross cutting issue in the "Business Innovation Greece" Programme. Empowering women and promoting gender equality is crucial for accelerating sustainable development (ref. UN''s 2030 Agenda). Gender inequality remains high in Greece. In the Global Gender Gap Index 2020 issued by the World Economic Forum, Greece is ranked 84th while Iceland and Norway are ranked 1st and 2nd. This bilateral initiative aimes to produce high quality and high applicability set of deliverables focusing on research, dissemination, capacity building and advocacy. This approach will help to

Summary of the results

The initiative strengthened bilateral relations between Greece and the Donor States in the field of empowering women in business, as the output of the initiative was the transfer of knowledge between the donor states entities and Greek entities. The Donor partners shared best practices from Norway and Iceland, with the aim of supporting Greek private business sector in leveraging this knowledge to produce its own set of policies and tools. These practices were included in a report on Equality and Inclusion in Business.

The initiative also contributed to the UN Sustainability Goal nr 5 - Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
